The French people in France are protesting. It is all over the news. That is what people here in America should do. There are to many people with high medical bills and people do not have jobs.
They should have medical and dental clinics in Penna. The medical clinics they have in Calif are good clinics and it is helpful for people who do not have medical insurance.
I think it is a real shame that the state and churches are paying for these roach hotels that are breeding disease and more corruption. The slum lanlords that run these places should be arrested. One of these places had a murder months ago. This is where they are putting people who do not have a place to live.
in response to Starshine...I was in a homeless shelter I also talked with a lot of people and if people do not say they are not getting help these agencies will continue to not help peolple; Why is it that the welfare dept in New York has a list of things they will do to help people help with rent etc.
If agencies are helping people then why are there so many people that are asking for help and not getting any. I was told they help by the neighborhood center who is across the street from me where I now live and they are affliated with the welfare dept and they send people to the homeless shelter.Leigh County is the worst.
One of the homless shelters in town charges thirty dollars a month for people to stay there. Also when people go to work they want people to put money in a account for themselves which years ago one of the workers stole the people's money who put money in the account. Nice thing to do to the homeless
in response to R4S...I know people who became homless and they did not have a mental disease or drug or drinking problem. There are some who do but not ninety percent. Jobs are scarce and the cost of living is high. I for one was homeless for two months I worked as a live in caregiver and so do do a lot of other women so they can earn a living and it is a very hard job and you do not get rewards for the job. If anything you will get cheated out of benefits and sometimes pay. Also what money you save runs out most people contact agencies that are suppose to be there to help but turn a deaf ear.
I can not believe I filled out an application for housing for senior citizens the manager of the hud program stood at the window and talked constantly in a snippy voice. She did not talk nice at all. I asked for the application back thinking I am older and have a medical problem if I move somewhere I want a relaxed atmosphere not where some one will talk nasty. I am wondering how she treats the people who live there. This is a hud program I did ask other people they said she does not know how to talk to people. Poor excuse as far as I am concerned.
No one wants a medical problem. $418.00 is a lot or money per month for Medicaid. I have a medical problem and I can not understand if doctors want to get paid and have patients then help someone with a medical problem to get money to pay medical bills. I remember when they were advertising how millions of people should get food stamps they advertised a lot how people were entitled for food stamps yet when peole applied they did not get food stamps. Same thing with medical help the elderly are entitled they do not get it they should apply.Why tell people that if they are going to complain when they apply.
Social workers have a job because people have problems and need help. Social workers should be helping. If people did not have problems they would not have a job.I think some of these social workers and organizations should take heed if people would not have problems they would not have a job.
in response to Schmidty...It is a real shame jobs are scarce and I know the organization across the street from me gets contributions and Federal Funding. They do give food from the food bank. Even there they act like they do not want to give it. I can not understand how they can pay for the low run down sleezy hotels that they are putting people in they are paying the sleezy owners of these hotels money people get sick in these places even the churches are recommending these sleezy hotels. People have to ask for more homeless shelters or housing and universal healthcare.
I can not believe that so many people need help and get exactly what they get nothing from agencies that they go to for help. I live across the street from the neighborhood center who helps people. It is who they want to help. People should stand on the sidewalks and ask for money or sing whatever it takes instead of wasting time with social agencies.
in response to nini3...I am happy to hear you are making jewerly it is nice. We should revolt and do something about healthcare. A lot of times it is the social workers. I had to go to a supervisors for health care . When you are not feeling good it is tiring.
in response to nini3...I agree with everything you did write. I was in the hospital I needed a operation or I could have died. Now they want to stop all medical benefits which I deperately some of the social workers just do want they want to do. I have enough dealing with my health problem.
I think the reason why so many people are are in need of dental work is because dentist do charge a lot. They do not know where go to for help. People are not looking for a handout only to be treated fairly .Some of the greedies in this world should take a look on how they are destroying people and the enviroment we live in.

I can not believe that there are so many homeless people in this country I think this country should be ashamed. Landlords do not help either with evicting as soon as they do not get there rent do they not believe in helping there neighbors or tenants for that matter. Jobs are scarce but people should try and help one another.
I can not help anyone with money becuse I need help myself but I remember when I was on the subway a young man had a box of candy bars and called out he was selling candy bars so he would not become homeless and people did buy candy bars from him.
If jobs are not available then the goverment will have to have more programs for the homelss unless they want more people living in the streets and have homeless children. You are under a lot of stress facing eviction not knowing where you are going to live. How are you suppose to feel about living in America?No job no food no place to live. Then someone comes along saying people put it on themselves maybe if the greedies in this country would think of someonelse it would be a better country to live in.
After reading how people do not have food to eat and how they do not have a place to live I think the politcians and some people should try and make things better. I do not feel like I am living in America when there are people who are hungry and do not have a place to live. WHAT IS WRONG IN AMERICA?
I always thought that they helped the elderly help fix there home i do no know where you live. But I would call or try thr House of Aging or programs related to the elderly where they help maintaince. They might ask you what your income is etc.
I think aid page is a good place for people to talk about what is going on. Jobs are scarce. I just got off the phone with a local charity they will not help with rental assistance unless you have a job. They will help with food but nothing else. That is why I think people are upset because they get sick which they can not afford to do then people tell them this organization will help and they go from one organization to the other and it gets frustrating.
